🤝 Expanding Compassionate Care to Our Homeless Community

Heart of Florida Health Center is proud to partner with Interfaith Emergency Services to bring high-quality, compassionate primary care directly to individuals experiencing homelessness in Marion County.

Under the shared message “A Voice, A Care, A Home,” this collaboration ensures that every person, regardless of their housing or financial situation has access to dignity, respect, and quality health care.

Our on-site outreach clinic at the IES Engagement Center opened on November 3rd, and our HFHC team has already begun providing primary care to individuals experiencing or transitioning from homelessness. IES continues to coordinate case management, referrals, and housing support, helping clients connect to HFHC’s full range of services.

“Everyone deserves access to compassionate, quality care,” said Matt Clay, CEO of HFHC.
“Together, we’re creating a path to health and hope,” shared Karla Grimsley, Executive Director of IES.

More information about our upcoming community health-fair event will be shared soon, including free screenings, health education, and opportunities to meet the team.

Earlier this week, our CEO Matt Clay joined the Florida Association of Community Health Centers(FACHC) in Tallahassee for the 2025 Legislative Forum, where leaders from across the state came together to advocate for Florida’s 54 Community Health Centers (FQHCs) collectively serving 1.8 million Floridians each year.

Conversations with Senator Stan McClain, Representative Ryan Chamberlin, and Representative JJ Grow focused on the urgent need to strengthen Florida’s primary care safety net by addressing the growing gap between the cost of care and current reimbursement rates.

We cannot thank Florida Association of Community Health Centers (FACHC) and our legislators enough for their continued advocacy, speaking up for those who often don’t have a voice and prioritizing access to compassionate, quality care for all.
