We had such a fun time at this year’s volunteer luncheon. It was all about celebrating the people who give their time, their energy, and so much heart.

And yes… there were even a few crowns in the room, because if anyone deserves to feel like royalty for a day, it’s our volunteers.

Looking dapper, John & Diane!

We’re thrilled to celebrate John Renyhart, recipient of the Unsung Hero Award at the 4th Annual Inspire Gala, hosted by The Community Foundation Ocala Marion County.

John has turned a deeply personal caregiving journey into a legacy of compassion and hope. Through his inspiration, the Nancy Renyhart Dementia Education Program was created and has provided education and support to nearly 12,000 individuals across Marion County.

We are grateful to walk alongside you, John, to ensure those facing dementia never feel alone.

Wow! A heartfelt thank you to the Women of the World Club for their remarkable generosity. Over the years, the Women of the World Club has contributed $127,000 to the Hospice of Marion County Foundation and the Nancy Renyhart Dementia Education Program.

We’ve shared a lot about the ribbon cutting of our new Dementia Education and Care Center, but this article is different. It was written by Diane Renyhart, whose husband, John, is the visionary behind the Nancy Renyhart Dementia Education Program.

John’s first wife, Nancy, lived with dementia for nine years. It was an experience that forever shaped his commitment to supporting families on this journey.

Now, John and Diane walk this path together—advocating, building and helping ensure families facing dementia feel supported and understood. Their love and commitment are shaping a better future for our community.

On National Doctors' Day, we celebrate Dr. Tamara Lopez Díaz. She arrived in the United States at 24 as a single mother, spent over a decade working in factories, restaurants, and housekeeping jobs while studying for her boards, and never stopped. Eleven years later, she became a physician. Today, she brings that same determination to every patient she serves at Hospice of Marion County.
