Our Story

Simply Southern Services, LLC (formerly Simply Southern Sitting - Florida Style, LLC) is an all female, family owned and operated, elderly and disabled companion service. We are AHCA (Agency for Health Care Administration) licensed in 16 Florida counties including Marion, Alachua, Bradford, Citrus, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Putnam, Sumter, Suwannee, and Union counties.

Our business owners are a mother and daughter team of three and native Floridians from Ocala, Florida. Carolyn Wright, mother, resides in Anthony, Fl. Daughter, Tina Hatcher Strickland, resides in Citra, Fl. Daughter, Lisa Hatcher Wingfield, resides in Clayton, NC. Our trio brings a lifetime of professional and personal experience in customer service, office administration and management, contract management, process development/execution/improvement, financial management, billing, and elderly/special needs.

Our vision actually started when Lisa’s corporate management position was eliminated after a 33 year career and Tina came to visit the week after Christmas 2015. At that time Tina and Carolyn were both performing private companion care work on a regular basis. As Lisa was exploring entrepreneural opportunities and Tina shared her personal experiences with elderly care, the business concept was conceived. The sisters discussed the idea and vision with Carolyn (mom) and the rest is history. Simply Southern Sitting - Florida Style, LLC was established in on February 26, 2016. Our first office was in our relative’s home as she helped with our office administration and billing as the business started. In March 2017, we moved into an official office in Ocala.

Since our start, we have experienced our share of challenges as most small businesses do. We made changes to our business model and have had many successes. We envision more challenges, but more importantly even more successes. We will soon be conducting our Strategic Planning Session to establish our short and long term goals for our company. The single most important thing to us is that we constantly remind ourselves to stay true to our initial vision of creating a company that truly becomes a part of our client’s family! Our owners are passionate about serving our client with the same premier service that we would expect for our own care and our love one’s care. Basically, serve from the “Heart”! We expect this level of passion from each other and we look for and expect that level of passion from the employees that work on our behalf.
