Mother’s Day Reflection
It is such a blessing to watch your children grow into who they are meant to be , to give them roots, but also wings. Life isn’t linear. There are simple times and special moments, good decisions and not-so-great decisions, yet all of it becomes part of a beautiful journey in its own way. I am beyond grateful to be mom to Alex, Lara, Zach and Max .. the added joy of Karina and Brad ❤️.. and the blessings of being Mimi to Rocky and soon Maui ❤️💕🩵✨🌞.

Motherhood can’t truly be summed up with a card or a single day. Today is about honoring all women raising children …partnered or single, biological, chosen, stepmothers, grandmothers, and every woman who loves unconditionally and shows up day after day.

To mothers everywhere: you are seen, appreciated, and celebrated for the countless ways you shape lives with your strength, sacrifice, patience, and love.

Happy Mother’s Day 🩵

Turning 63 feels less like reaching an age and more like standing in the middle of a long, beautiful story I’ve been lucky enough to live.

I was born in 1963 and grew up in a time that felt alive with music and movement. I remember the energy of nights in New York, the sound and spirit of places like CBGB and The Ritz, Rockaway Beach and how artists like Madonna , America The Smiths and The Ramones (so many more)seemed to give voice to something I didn’t yet have words for.
Back then, everything felt possible, even when I didn’t know where I was headed.
In 1982, I followed a pull I couldn’t quite explain and took a one-way ticket to California. The Sierras gave me space to grow, to reflect, and to begin understanding who I was becoming.
Life didn’t unfold in a straight line. There was marriage, and divorce, and the deep responsibility and joy of raising four children. Now, being a Mimi, one grandson here and another arriving so soon is one of life’s sweetest gifts.

I’ve worn many hats over the years: teacher, librarian, entrepreneur, wanderer. Each role shaped me, humbled me, and taught me something I carry forward.

I’ve had friendships that have lasted a lifetime and others that were only meant for a season, and I’m grateful for all of them. Every person, every chapter, left something meaningful behind.

There have been great times, good times, and some very challenging ones. Moments I wish I could have held onto just a little longer, and others that taught me strength I didn’t know I had. Through it all, I’ve gathered small nuggets of wisdom about patience, about letting go, about showing up for the people I love.
I don’t have it all figured out, and maybe I never will. But I feel grateful for my family, for my friends, for the path I’ve walked and the one still unfolding.
If anything, this moment feels like a quiet pause to say thank you… for all of it. Love love love 🩵JB

Watching the weather of the mind

A thought is not a fact. It is simply something that passes through, like a mental event, a cloud or a car going by. We forget this constantly.

When we treat every thought as truth, we get pulled into loops of rumination. Anxiety builds. The mind spirals.
Mindful practice is simply to notice the thought, name it quietly, and let it move on.
We don’t have to believe everything you think.

Just like when we are meditating. We focus on the breath, thought arrives, we acknowledge it, let it go, and come back to the breath. The more we practice coming back to our breath, or coming back to the moment, the faster and smoother it happens.

Quieting the “I / me / mine” story

Much of the noise in our heads is a running commentary about ourselves. How we’re doing, how we’re perceived, what we should have said or done. It is exhausting, and it is relentless.

Mindfulness gently loosens that grip. When we step out of constant doing and into simply being, something eases. The critic softens, and there is more room for joy.

Coming back to the body

The body is always in the present moment, even when the mind is not. A breath. A scan from the top of the head to the soles of the feet. Noticing where you are holding tension.

This is not complicated. It does not require silence or a cushion or a special room. It asks only that you return, even briefly, but regularly, to the physical self that is carrying you through the day.

Last but not least. Kindness toward yourself

The mind wanders, and when it does, it’s not a failure, it is what minds do. The question is what we say to ourselves when we notice it has wandered.

Judgment is a habit, and so is kindness. In a world that is already hard, bringing a gentler attitude to our own struggle is not weakness, it’s wisdom. It is also, I would say, in these times, urgent.

SOMETHING I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED to do with a special group.

Camino Coastal Walking Retreat
Porto → Santiago de Compostela
May 1–14, 2027 | Limited to 4–5 Guests

Walk the Edge of the Ocean…
…and step into a new version of yourself.
This is not just a walking trip.

It’s a guided pilgrimage for transformation set along one of Europe’s most breathtaking coastal routes.
Over 14 days, you’ll journey from Porto to Santiago de Compostela, following the ancient Camino path beside the Atlantic Ocean, through seaside villages, forests, and sacred spaces that have guided pilgrims for centuries.

Each step is intentional.
Each day carries meaning.
Each moment invites change.

✨ A Journey with Meaning
Each day of the Camino mirrors an inner journey:
* Beginning (Porto): Set your intention
* Trust (Ocean paths): Let go of control
* Release (Forests & coast): Shed what no longer serves you
* Transition (Crossing into Spain): Step into something new
* Healing (Thermal waters in Caldas de Reis): Restore body and spirit
* Arrival (Santiago): Integration and transformation
This is a soul-aligned experience, not just a physical challenge.

12/31/2025 An offering to you. 🦋
A writing Reflection and creating exercise …Releasing, Remembering, Embodying. The sweet spot between
The past and future.. presence

WRITING SPACE.. I like to create a space that will invite writing. For me, that is uncluttered, with a simple flower or a focal point of nature, a candle, and soft lighting.

SIT.. cozy up with a favorite tea in a space where you can be uninterrupted.

MEDITATE.. For just 5-10 minutes to empty the mind of its busyness.

REFLECT.. On what is under your skin, what unfolds in your mind , your heart and on your feet. What affected your life and spirit this year. (directly or indirectly)

WRITE.. I tend to write randomly across the page, you can add colour, drawings, calligraphy, wherever and however the heart moves you to express yourself.

With an overtone of self compassion, remind yourself; “I did the best I could with what I knew and had.”

Put your reflections on paper; whatever you experienced in the year that is coming to a close. The highlights and the lowlights that affected or altered you from who and how you were at the end of the previous year. Write facts, feelings and lessons. Reflect on the scope of being alive, in your body, in the world, in these times. Write about what drained your energy, what restored it. What made you suffer and what you’re grateful for.

I’d suggest writing in point form to start, you can always go back and expand on them later. Sometimes the points are enough.

There is no rush, and you can always lay down the pen and add to it at another time. This is an opportunity to embrace the gift of this life and how we show up for it.

May we all have the courage and endurance to embrace what unfolds in life with love, no matter what. May simple and genuine happiness be ours to share.
All love in the coming year - 🌱❤️🌞✨🌙🙏🏼 Holding so much gratitude for this journey we call life, Jenn
2026 will hold many blessings ❤️
