Through my former employer, I have been privileged to serve many families in the area for over thirty years. I was born and raised here, my family and friends are here and I plan to serve this community with service and products that are second to none.
I am a licensed funeral director, embalmer and certified crematory operator. I am currently serving my third term on the NC Crematory Authority. I am a member of Soldier Bay Baptist Church. I attended West Brunswick High School and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science and I was in the NC Army National Guard.
It is my desire to serve each family with my upmost ability and professionalism during this very difficult time. I will place the wishes and needs of the client families in the forefront of the process of celebrating the life of your loved one. I have a history of providing exemplary service while understanding the needs of the family and creating a meaningful service of remembrance. I have been told that “dealing with you is like having a family member in the funeral business”.

Through over 30 years of funeral service, I came to realize that families have become frustrated by the rising costs, therefore, I am proud to announce a new concept in funeral service.
Michael J. Fulwood, Funeral Service Licensee, offers you traditional funeral and cremation services in a way that allows you, the family to save money and receive the highest quality funeral service possible.
At the time of death, I will come to the home or facility where the death has occurred. Your loved one will be taken into our care and transported to a local funeral establishment where necessary preparations are performed as requested by the family. I will meet with you in the comfort of your own home to present the available options, there I will take care of all the paperwork, preparations for a remarkable and truly memorable service. I will handle obituary placement and a variety of other tasks.
You will never step foot in a funeral home.
I will bring your loved one and all flowers, picture collages, videos, etc. to your church or facility where you would like to have the visitation and celebration of life services. If you do not have a church available, I have secured several churches in the area that may be provided for you at no cost, and may be geographically close to you.. The funeral or memorial service is carried out just as you are accustomed to.
The low overhead allows me to give you the same professional service, at hundred to thousands of dollars less depending on the type of service you desire.
Even though I do not have a public gathering facility at this time, my goal is to have one available in 2021. However, my commitment to professional and caring service remains my number one priority.

If you currently have a pre-arranged funeral plan with another funeral provider and would like to transfer it to Michael J Fulwood, Funeral Service Licensee, this may be done at the time of death. Any surplus difference between what in in the pre-need account and what the actual charges are will be refunded. You will never be asked to pay additional costs for the same arrangement and all merchandise selected on the prearrangement will be honored.
