Gulf Coast Children’s clinic has been providing care to children on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1986.

We have nine full-time pediatricians with offices in Ocean Springs, the Cedar Lake Medical Complex. Our Cedar Lake Medical Complex address is 1720A Medical Park Drive Suite 160 Biloxi, MS 39532. The hours of operation for this location are Monday - Friday 8:00
am - 5:00 pm. Our Wiggins clinic is located at 930 Hall Street Wiggins, MS 39577. The hours of operation for this location are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

AVOID LOCKING BABIES IN THE CAR

Dear parents and care givers, it is our worst nightmare to lock a child in the car. Specially in the summer. PLEASE make this simple contraption as a 100% fool proof way to avoid doing that. Take a cord/rope and attach a locking hook on each end. Attach one hook to the car seat and the other to your belt loop. That way even if you forget, you will not be able to walk away without the baby. I am working on making this a mandatory accessory with every car seat. But until that happens please do it yourself.

FACILTY FEE

Some of you might not know this. When you see a hospital employed physician, you are charged a separate “Facility Fee”, in addition to your doctor’s visit. This fee can run over a 100 dollars and is usually not covered by insurance. Physicians in practice on their own, do not charge that extra fee, while providing EXACTLY the same service to you. Make sure you check when making your appointment if you will be charged a facility fee, how much is it and if it will be an out of pocket expense for you.

WE ARE AVAILABLE 24/7, 365 DAYS A YEAR ( 366 DAYS EVERY LEAP YEAR 😉 )

Dear Parents, any time we are not in the office and you have any medical concerns about your child, we are just a phone call away. For after hours, all you have to do is to dial the office number, you will get a recording, which will tell you to press zero to get in touch with a health care providers. When you press zero you will connected directly to the cell phone of the provider from the practice on call. No going through an operator or an answering service and waiting to be contacted. You talk directly to one of us, not a stranger. Last thing you want to do when you are worried is having to wait and then talk to a total stranger . Most of the time we can save a trip to the ER or the Urgent Care. We are ALWAYS there for you and your child.

JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER FOR PARENTS

We are now an Urgent Care too. We are open from 8 am to 4-5 pm, Mon-Fri. We welcome walk ins and do not close for lunch. You can come during your lunch hour and not take time off from work. We are also open on Saturday mornings in our Biloxi location.

VACCINE POLICY

Providers and staff here at Gulf Coast Children’s clinic would like to update our parents on our vaccine policy. We will always strive to educate our parents on the current vaccine regulations by AAP, NIH and CDC. However we do respect parents’ choice or a delayed vaccine schedule at both our locations. If you do decide to not vaccinate or chose an alternative schedule, we are required to have you sign an informed consent form, as you do with any medical decisions. Our parents’ peace of mind and trust in our care are our top priority. Please feel free to contact our office for any questions or concerns.

YEARLY WELLNESS CHECK UPS

It’s summer time. Parents, this a good opportunity to have your children’s annual wellness check ups without them having to miss school. It gives us a chance to check their vision, hearing, growth and development, immunization status and address any other issues that they are having. Type 1 diabetes is diagnosed in the Emergency Room almost 2/3 of the time when the child is already deathly sick. Please don’t forget to ask us about screening your child for Type 1 diabetes with a simple blood test, at your next visit.

Parents we are now open during your lunch hour too. If you don’t want to miss work, you are welcome to bring your child between 12 and 2 at our Biloxi or Ocean Springs office. And we accept walk ins. So no reason to go to the ER or Urgent Care from 8 to 5.

Parents in Wiggins, Kendra Watts is still with us and is in our Biloxi office 4 days a week 8-5. The office is very conveniently located just off exit 44 in the Cedar Lake Medical Park. It’s open on Saturday mornings and also during lunch hours between 12-2 pm. And walk ins are always welcome. So if Saturdays or your lunch hours are more convenient for you then we are here.
