So, โ€œcheapโ€ becomes very expensive over time, and โ€œfastโ€ actually becomes โ€œneverโ€.

I do understand that sometimes people cannot see themselves at a weight I set, but I see it, and I have been doing this successfully for a very long time. My job is not to get you to a weight that you want to be if that weight is still overweight; itโ€™s not to get you to the โ€œslimmest Iโ€™ve ever beenโ€ if that is still overweight. My job is to get you to the weight I know you must be โ€” so I can put you through stabilization and maintenance programs to give you the best chance of never being overweight again. If you have 50 pounds to lose but only want to lose 30, this is not the program for you.

The process of changing oneโ€™s eating and lifestyle habits must include the process of owning up to why you are where you are, taking responsibility for your actions, and taking the โ€œvictimโ€ and โ€œblameโ€ cards out of your deck. Both those cards donโ€™t โ€œplayโ€ well with me. And if you canโ€™t handle hearing โ€œCut the crapโ€ when itโ€™s relevant, youโ€™re not the right client for me.

My experience is that those who think they โ€œknow it allโ€ when it comes to weight loss simply because theyโ€™ve been dieting forever are also those who are unwilling to be open-minded about a new way of doing things. Theyโ€™re full of โ€œI canโ€™tsโ€ and โ€œI wonโ€™tsโ€ in terms of what they canโ€™t do and/or wonโ€™t eat or drink (excluding allergies and medical issues, of course), or wonโ€™t give up. Theyโ€™ll throw the money at me and think that because they โ€œjoinedโ€ the program, thatโ€™s the same as โ€œdoingโ€ the program. If this is you, save your money. This is the wrong program for you.

Your closest people aren't just along for the rideโ€”they're shaping your habits, your choices, and your odds. Too often, they enable, sabotage, push food, or quietly resent your changes because it highlights their stagnation.

You don't have to ditch them.

You don't stigmatize them.

When people obsess only over the number on the scale, they usually stop caring about how they lose it. They just want it fast and cheap.

Stop making weight loss the goal. Make eating correctly the goal โ€” giving your body the right kind and right amount of fuel every single day.

When you shift your focus to fueling your body properly, weight loss becomes the natural result.

Losing weight is a mind game.

Most people assume sea salt is the โ€œbetterโ€ choice because itโ€™s marketed as more natural. Hereโ€™s the truth:

Both sea salt and table salt have the exact same basic nutritional value and contain the same amount of sodium by weight.

The real differences are in taste, texture, and processing:

โ‡พ Sea salt is made by evaporating ocean or saltwater lake water with minimal processing. It often retains trace minerals that give it subtle flavor, color, and varying levels of coarseness.

โ‡พ Table salt is mined from underground deposits, heavily processed to remove minerals, and usually includes an anti-clumping additive. Most table salt also has added iodine โ€” an essential nutrient that supports thyroid health.

We hear this line all the time.

I disagree.

โ€œModerationโ€ is one of the vaguest, most dangerous words in weight loss. Itโ€™s so fuzzy that anyone can twist it to mean whatever they want โ€” and chronically overweight people almost always use it as permission to keep doing exactly what theyโ€™ve always done.

Smaller portions or โ€œless oftenโ€ doesnโ€™t magically make trigger foods safe when your track record shows they open the door to a full binge. For many, that first bite isnโ€™t moderation โ€” itโ€™s the gateway.

Just like a recovering alcoholic canโ€™t have โ€œjust one drink,โ€ people with a real food addiction canโ€™t have their drug of choice โ€œin moderation.โ€

For some of us, certain foods simply belong in the โ€œnever everโ€ category. Full stop.
