SPEAK UP. RESIST. EDUCATE. ADVOCATE. Do not give power to the power hungry. Empower each other instead. Stand together. Support your community- and remember trans individuals, immigrants, BIPOC, people with disabilities, and women are ALL apart of your community!!! As a social worker I have a duty to create safe space and speak up against oppression. I will not be silent in these times, and I encourage all of you to keep using your voices!!

It’s a New Year and with that comes A LOT of expectation around being NEW and IMPROVED. But what happened to loving who we are, where we are? I’m all for progress, but sometimes we forgot to be happy in THIS moment. There can be joy in something messy. Beauty is something unfinished. Contentment is something ever-evolving. This year I hope we all find more of this kind of 🧘‍♀️ 🙏

There’s a funny quote about how we are just like houseplants. And it’s true. They need water (us too!), sunshine (it’s necessary), and sometimes they need to be repotted or else they wither. Staying connected to your roots is just as important as discovering new soil. If you’re holding yourself back you’re making yourself smaller. You deserve to flourish. So be like a houseplant and get yourself the space you need to expand towards the sun ☀️

Everyone is getting ready for a shift. Something ends, and something new begins. Change. It’s a bit of dirty word for some. But it is one thing we all have in common. Everything changes. My hope is that change brings new light and excitement into your life. If not, now may be a good time to reach out for support.
