Mount Sinai South Nassau's Respiratory and Community Education teams are proud to support our community with two days of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) education and lung-health awareness in observance of World COPD Day. Yesterday, our team visited The Barn in Bethpage, and today we hosted an educational event in the Mount Sinai South Nassau lobby. Together, the teams shared resources on COPD, the Mount Sinai South Nassau Smoking Cessation Program, Pulmonary Rehab, our Rapid COPD Follow-Up Clinic, vaccines, and tips for maintaining healthy lungs. Together, we’re helping our community breathe easier.

For Caitlin Coyle, RN, nursing is about compassion in action—showing up each day with the goal of making just one person’s day a little better. After caring for a patient’s father during his final days, she received an emotional letter that read, “You were more than a nurse. You were a beautiful soul.” It’s moments like these that remind her why she chose this profession and why, after seven years as a nurse, she continues to call Mount Sinai home. Thank you, Caitlin, for the light and love you bring to your patients, their families, and your team.
