Patients at Tri-City got a little boost of holiday cheer thanks to students from the Leadership Academy! 💌 They spent the afternoon delivering cards throughout the hospital, sharing smiles, a few Christmas carols and a little extra light to brighten the season.

A New Path Forward, Together.

Friday, December 12th saw a landmark moment occur between Sharp HealthCare and Tri-City Medical Center as both organizations signed the official affiliation agreements signifying the finality of a seven-month undertaking between both entities.

This milestone reflects the shared commitment to improving health outcomes, enhancing care coordination, and ensuring patients continue to receive exceptional care close to home.

The community impact will be profound as Tri-City looks to assume its role as a proud member of the Sharp family of hospitals.

While this is a monumental moment for us, we still need YOUR support through voter approval of the upcoming ballot measure in June, 2026!

Tri-City Medical Center is thrilled to welcome 11 new members to the Tri-City Nursing Family! At TCMC we ensure that every new grad that goes through our program is thoroughly prepared for all aspects of patient care.

During their four-week didactic (classroom-based instruction) our new grads honed their skills in:
Cerner Training, Policies and Procedures, Hand-Off Communication, Compliance & Patient Experience, Quality, Regulatory Compliance, PreOp/Post Op Patient Care, Infection Prevention, Fall Prevention, Medication Administration

Patient Systems Assessment and Skills:
Cardiac, Pulmonary, Skin & Wound, Neuro/Stroke, Venous Access, Musculoskeletal & Patient Mobility, Psychosocial, Diet/Nutrition, Diabetes, GI, GU

Thanks to our amazing team in the Education Department, our RN New Grads become equipped with the essential knowledge, confidence and compassion that will see them, and their patients, thrive at the bed-side.

Last week at Tri-City Medical Center “The Legend” Retired. Pulmonary Manager Martin “Marty” Noriega.

With a career spanning over 40 years in pulmonary, and healthcare as a whole, Martin brought an energy that reverberated throughout our halls.

His compassion and dedication to our hospital, patients, and colleagues are attributes we all admired and now promise to carry on.

Congratulations and Happy Retirement, Marty!

Earlier this month, Tri-City Medical Center, in partnership with Ocean Hills Country Club, hosted our final Lunch Wise event of 2025!

We welcomed two expert speakers: Dr. Kern Brar, Physician of Internal Medicine and Dr. Christopher Bo, Board Certified Physiatrist in Spinal Cord Injury.

Dr. Brar discussed comprehensive medical testing and evaluation, as well as a range of personalized health services offered through his practice, A Personal Physician.

Dr. Bo shared insights into his work as a physiatrist at Tri-City, supporting patients in their recovery following spinal cord injuries, and highlighted key strategies for preventing such injuries.

We look forward to hosting our next Lunch Wise event in the new year.

Tri-City Medical Center and the County of San Diego are proud to announce the opening of the Psychiatric Health Facility or PHF. Designed to provide 24/7 compassionate, short-term inpatient care for those experiencing a mental health crisis.

A vital step toward improving access to urgent mental health support in our community.

The grand opening marks the opening of the first County-funded inpatient psychiatric health facility in the region and brings much needed services to residents in the North County.
