Here’s the thing: icing might actually be slowing down your recovery.

I know that sounds wild (especially if you grew up hearing RICE: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation)… but even the doctor who created that method no longer recommends it.

Ice reduces inflammation—but inflammation is actually part of your body’s natural healing process. When you block that, you’re delaying recovery and often masking the real issue underneath.
