Hello world, meet Persephone 🌷

Her entrance into this world was more powerful and wildly beautiful than I could have ever imagined. We feel so blessed to have her here, and so grateful for a healthy pregnancy, birth, and baby.

As of March, I’m officially back at my studio 💜

To keep a balance between family life and my practice, I’ll be seeing clients Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays for now.

The postnatal season can be a whirlwind between taking care of a tiny human, appointments, lack of sleep, learning how to breastfeed, all whilst trying to put together the fragments of who you used to be, and the mother you are still in the process of becoming.

Typically your provider will give you the “Yup, all clear!” after 4-8 weeks, some well-meaning advice, and send you on your way. Any human that has gone through the birthing process can tell you that there is much more healing to be done (mentally and physically), even after it has been decided that everything in your body is in working order.

Postnatal bodywork celebrates the in-between.
Encourages the healing process.
Gives time for the body to rest deeply and process emotions and trauma that may have occurred during birth/after birth.
In most cases, postnatal bodywork can be started as soon as mom feels ready to receive.
You don’t have to go through it alone 🌟

There is something undeniably beautiful and mystical about pregnancy and birth. Just like death, giving birth can incite fear in those that are afraid of the unknown. There is something just so lovely that surrounds a woman in the in-between stage of pregnancy and birth. They hold an unexplainable power, much like a warrior preparing for battle. It can be hard for some to look at a soon to be mother during their preparation, and truly see them, and understand what it is they’re going through (“you want to give birth where, and without WHAT??”). Yet, although a birth warrior may not be able to explain what it is they know and how they know it, they can feel it. And they know that no matter what the outcome—there is no turning back, they must accept the journey in front of them and face it with great courage and responsibility. They must give up their whole being and dive into the fabric of the universe to retrieve the soul that has chosen her to be their mother and return to the world.

A group of beautiful people played their part in changing birth on Earth this week. So blessed to have been apart of this Spinning Babies aware practitioner class, and even more so to have found a calling in this important, life changing work. Thank you to everyone that attended, taught, and facilitated. We ARE changing birth on Earth!
