The postnatal season can be a whirlwind between taking care of a tiny human, appointments, lack of sleep, learning how to breastfeed, all whilst trying to put together the fragments of who you used to be, and the mother you are still in the process of becoming.
Typically your provider will give you the βYup, all clear!β after 4-8 weeks, some well-meaning advice, and send you on your way. Any human that has gone through the birthing process can tell you that there is much more healing to be done (mentally and physically), even after it has been decided that everything in your body is in working order.
Postnatal bodywork celebrates the in-between.
Encourages the healing process.
Gives time for the body to rest deeply and process emotions and trauma that may have occurred during birth/after birth.
In most cases, postnatal bodywork can be started as soon as mom feels ready to receive.
You donβt have to go through it alone π
