I often get asked why I describe my work as women’s health massage.
The answer is simple: it accurately reflects where my advanced education and clinical focus are concentrated.
Over the years, I intentionally pursued training in supporting conditions and transitions that disproportionately affect female and reproductive bodies: pregnancy, postpartum recovery, painful periods, endometriosis, PMDD, fertility challenges, perimenopause, breast/chest health, and chronic pelvic pain.
These experiences are often minimized, under-supported, or dismissed entirely — and I felt strongly called to learn how to support them skillfully and compassionately through bodywork.
Using the term women’s health is not about excluding anyone from care. It’s about clearly communicating the body systems, health concerns, and lived experiences my work is centered around.
At the same time, I recognize that not every person living in a cyclical or reproductive body identifies as a woman.
Black Lotus Therapeutics is a welcoming space for q***r, trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive clients as well.
If this work sounds right for your body and your lived experience, let’s work together.
