Hello Oceanside!
Some may know me my name is Linda and I am the manager of Ocean Chemists Pharmacy. A few weeks ago the owner of our business acquired Levins Pharmacy. Unfortunately do to circumstances beyond their control, they were with out their computers for two weeks. I am happy to say they are up and running and ready to service all their customers! Today is the day to celebrate the most underrated, unrecognized, underpaid healthcare workers on the front lines: Our Pharmacy Technicians!

Without them, we pharmacists are nothing. Sure, we can counsel up a storm and perform every task in the pharmacy but, have you tried doing every pharmacy task at the same time, solo? Our Techs are the backbone of our profession. They are the first point of engagement for our patients. They let us focus on our clinical tasks and make the pharmacy run.

They should make more money. (Especially with states requiring registration and certification and annual CE and fees.)
With so many entry-level fast food and other retail jobs paying nearly similar wages, why do our technicians come to us and stay with us with all the added stress, liability, and anxiety pharmacy provides?

They love their jobs and the people.
Years ago it was not uncommon to work with technicians with >20 years of experience.
Today, it is rare to find many with >10.

Celebrate your techs.
Let them know how much they mean to you.
Petition to get them the pay they truly deserve.
Especially as tasks are added to their load daily.
