I have had the pleasure of providing psychotherapy and psychological evaluation services for children, adolescents, and adults since becoming Licensed as a Psychologist in January 1984. This following having graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) in San Diego with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in June of 1982 (CSPP is now affiliated with Alliant International University). I was a registered Psychological Assistant in private practice from graduation in 1982 until my licensure in January 1984. In my capacity as a Licensed Psychologist in private practice I have provided psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families. Over the years I have gained considerable experience and additional training in working with both children and adults with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), children with behavior disorders (Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and Conduct Disorders), depression, anxiety, stress management, trauma, and substance abuse difficulties. I additionally have a good deal of experience in working with individuals with bipolar disorder, Aspergers disorder, and low self-esteem secondary to multiple etiologies. For the last 28 years I have worked extensively with Child Welfare Services (Child Protective Services) providing both psychotherapy and psychological evaluations for offending parents, non-offending parents, and child and adolescent victims of abuse. I have testified as an expert witness in Criminal Court, Family Court, Juvenile Court (both in the Dependency and Delinquency departments), civil court, and military court-martial proceedings. In January 2005 I was invited to become a member of the San Diego Psychological Association's Professional Standards and Ethics committee for a three year commitment (2005-2006-2007). In the Fall of 2008 I was invited to become an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Alliant International University – CSPP. In this position I have been teaching second year doctoral students in a year-long course in ethics, California laws relating to the practice of psychology, and a consultation group for their practicum placements for the last six years, entering my seven year here in 2014. In 2011 my involvement with CSPP expanded as I became a member of the Professional Training Committee and Agency Liaison to 14 to 16 agencies where Alliant students are placed in practicum or internship settings. This position has been truly rewarding in getting to be directly involved in teaching students working on their doctoral degree. Additionally being able to interface and be involved in some of the training settings and the development of training standards for the Clinical Psy.D and Ph.D.
