I’ve dedicated my life to helping people breathe easier.
That was literally my job as a respiratory therapist, which introduced me to nursing and all the challenges families face when a loved one is sick.
Now, as CEO of Amerivita Home Health Care, I’m making it possible for children and their caregivers to rest easier by providing dependable, compassionate healthcare.
Take, for instance, Sheila. Sheila didn’t hesitate to take on the responsibility of caring for her nephew, Jojo, but she knew it would be a challenge.
Jojo lives with Down syndrome, autism, diabetes, asthma and high blood pressure. An emergency hospital visit brought them in contact with Amerivita and a nurse who would change their life. Now, Sheila can focus on her role as a mother to Jojo, while Jojo receives the round-the-clock care he needs.
Relief can only come if the caregiver completely trusts the nurses in their homes. And that’s where I lean on my president, Mark Miller. Mark builds accountability into our system with hourly digital reports and thorough, ongoing training for our nurses. In his words:
A great example is Guilberto and his son, Elias. Elias survived a premature birth at 27 weeks, but it left him with a host of health problems, including the constant need for a respirator.
Hurricane Maria drove Guilberto’s family from their home in
Puerto Rico to Central Florida, where they were stuck living in an RV.
Amerivita was not only able to provide the specialized care Elias desperately needs,
but our social worker connected them with area churches and other agencies that moved them into an apartment.
These stories embody Amerivita’s core values. We cherish the opportunity to care for the young boys and girls entrusted to us because, as Mark puts it,
Finding a trustworthy agency to care for your medically fragile loved one is literally a life or death decision. We get that. And we take that trust very seriously.
We invite you to give us a call and just get to know us before making a commitment.
We look forward to serving you in the near future.
