I had the pleasure of spending the morning at Cranial Technologies in West Allis (the baby helmet people 😉) I see a lot of great results with cranial deformation and torticollis, but sometimes I don’t see these kiddos until they’re older and we don’t have much wiggle room left for change in cranial bones due to their age. Or maybe they have more medical complexities that require all hands on deck. So enters the chat and we co-manage these babies to get maximum improvement!

I intentionally try and connect with the businesses and providers that refer to me and that I refer to, to make sure that if there is a service that I feel you would benefit from that is outside my scope, that you’re in the best hands possible.

I am definitely not a jack of all trades. Over the years I have really niched my practice into what I enjoy doing and try to do it well! But just because I don’t do it doesn’t mean it’s not valuable.

So throughout the year I try and keep in contact with my referral list (and if you’ve been in my rooms in the office you’ve seen my boards full of cards and brochures!). I want to learn from them, thank them and figure out the best way possible we can work together for YOUR benefit 🙌🏼

I’m thinking about starting a new series on here in regards to my most frequently asked questions but I’m going to start with one question today that I have gotten a lot recently with healthcare trends changing.

Why don’t I do scans? 🤔

Scans help chiropractors identify areas of nerve interference or subluxation by measuring temperature patterns.
Scans can be really great at showing you where inflammation and interferences may lie but the problem with this is that in eight weeks your scan might show different interferences. If you are active or even just sitting for too long of periods or just living your life, you are ALWAYS going to have some interference and inflammation. Inflammation is going to be a recurrence in your life for an endless amount of reasons. Let’s talk about that stigma. Maybe you work on getting inflammation down and a new issue arises, you can’t control all your life stressors. I am here to help your body function in the best way possible to deal with these interferences and give you supportive care through them. My goal is to build stability and resilience so you aren’t completely reliant on me.

This is why I don’t like to rely on that sort of technology as my only indicator for treatment because I’m treating YOU as a different person than everyone else in this world. Not based on a plan that is telling me you need. While I think it’s a valuable technology, it’s only one piece of the puzzle for me and I’ll never use that as the sole indicator for my recommendations for care. The most common thing I hear from my patients that are referred in is that they were told that I was honest and I pride myself on that. Your life is constantly changing and the things you need are constantly changing and I want to change with you and help ease life changes along the way, not add more stress to your life!

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a little intro.

I’m Vanessa! I’m a prenatal and pediatric chiropractor in Oconomowoc.

We have cats (not home enough for a dog, but I do love them! An office dog someday would be great 😉)

I’m ashamed to admit Real Housewives (and Friends) is what I watch when I’m catching up on work after the girls go to bed.

I have two girls, Lenley and Tatum. They’re 5 and 4 and full of girlie wonder.

I believe in chiropractic and love all things holistic but also believe allopathic medicine has a just as important place in this world too.

As a fellow mom, I’ll be your biggest cheerleader and voice of reason.

And you can always catch me dual reading a professional/self help book alongside my trashy romance novel 🫣

…my insurance changed.
…I lost my job.
…I’m overwhelmed by my schedule.

…I was afraid you were going to judge me.

It’s not about me. It’s about YOU. And I promise I hold no judgment. I’m just happy to see you back. And I’m ready to help. No matter how long or the reason for your absence. And just know, I’ve probably thought about you somewhere along the way. You popped into my mind and I thought, “I haven’t seen __ in awhile, I wonder how they’re doing.” And if our paths cross again and it’s not in my office don’t feel weird.
