RAS = Relative Athletic Score. Being a better athlete based on Size (strength), Speed, Explosion (power), and Agility is always a positive thing.

Wish more parents thought this way. All the hitting, pitching, and shooting lessons for little Timmy wont matter if Timmy isn't strong, explosive, fast, and agile.

Those 4 attributes have been and always will be the 4 greatest "sport skills" and in competition the athletes who are better in those 4 categories compete against others who are not which ones do you think will win?

I got this from Jon Mabb and I could not agree more with him. There is so much bad information about fitness, and exercise out there. Here I some good info not filled with BS:

The average person knows to use a knife when cutting a steak and not a spoon. Can you use a spoon? Yes, but…use a fn knife. Whats one comparable analogy in the fitness industry. H.I.I.T classes.

How they’re advertised:
LOSE WEIGHT
GET RIPPED
DROP POUNDS
BUILD MUSCLE / TONE

How they should be advertised:
We put you through poorly choreographed movements, ,up your heart rate in a cardio zone, increase physical stress so you get addicted to the endorphin rush and thats what keeps you coming back. You get high and you’re addicted.

H.I.I.T classes predominantly keep your heart rate in a cardiovascular improvement zone. NOT a fat burning zone. One thing people don’t know that aren’t on the inside of fitness are the differences between training results and heart rate zones. If you have a trainer and your goal is weight loss H.I.I.T isn’t it. Will you have found people that have lost weight with H.I.I.T , yes…..but use a fn knife. H.I.I.T is definitely like using a spoon.
