Unity Recovery Services is currently experiencing growth.

Hello, my name is Carrie Brooks, and I am a recovering m**h addict who has been sober for three years. I am a mother to two beautiful teenage daughters. I spent over 20 years of my life addicted to various drugs, each time thinking I could get control over it, only to spiral downwards.

For several years, I was homeless, away from my children, and high every minute of every day. This led to my arrest, my children being taken away from me, and facing multiple drug charges.

If it wasn't for Stephanie Timberland, the DA, and the Diversion Program, I would not be writing this today. She gave me a second chance and hope. It wasn’t easy; applying for jobs was heartbreaking. One look at my record and they would turn me away. Through determination and hard work, I persevered. I got my career back and became a recovery coach for Unity. Now, I am on a mission to give hope and a second chance to others. I don’t ever want to see someone suffer as I did. I believe in second chances, and by speaking up and telling our stories, maybe the stigma can be broken.

Welcome Carrie!
