On Saturday, December 3rd, the annual Odenton Christmas Tree Lighting will be held at 5:00 PM. The location is the Odenton MARC Station on the west side of the tracks at the old bank building.

There will be free refreshments, Christmas music, and the tree lighting. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive on the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company’s fire truck. This event kicks off the annual Santa rides through Odenton neighborhoods. Watch this space for the route schedules when they are posted.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children to visit with Santa and to meet your neighbors. See you then!

Did you know today is the birthday of Chiropractic?! 121 years ago today, on Sept 18th 1895, Dr. Daniel David Palmer performed the first ever chiropractic adjustment! His first patient was Harvey Lillard, a partially deaf janitor. Palmer went on to form the first Palmer School of Chiropractic in 1897.

Chiropractic Assistant Responsibilities include: • Greeting and welcoming patients • Escorting patients to exam rooms and maintaining the office "flow" • Performing clinical therapies such as Electric Muscle Stimulation, Ultrasound, Laser and Spinal Decompression. • Supporting, guiding and educating patients as they undergo Physical Therapy. • Light cleaning duties. • Completing patient documentation in the Chirotouch Electronic Health Record System. • Providing support to Chiropractors and other colleagues. Front Desk Responsibilities: • Greeting and welcoming patients. • Answering phones. • Collecting copayments. • Scheduling appointments. • Responding to patient inquiries. • Patient retention duties. • Administrative tasks as required. • Light cleaning duties. • Completing patient documentation in the Chirotouch Electronic Health Record System. • Providing support to Chiropractors and other colleagues. The DeMaio Family Chiropractic & Physical Therapy practice started in 1990. After attending graduate school in New York, Dr. DeMaio decided to be close to home where he grew up. He started in Annapolis and moved to Crofton in 1994 and then Gambrills in 2001. In 2009, a second office was opened in Bowie. This area is a bedroom community for both Baltimore and Washington, DC. It is also close to the large Ft. Meade military base and the ever expanding National Security Agency (NSA). The primary adjusting techniques we use include: Activator Methods, AK Applied Kinesiology, ArthroStim, Cox Flexion-Distraction, Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression, (NSSD) Diversified, Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Extremities, Foot Levelers, Graston, MLS Cold Laser Therapy, Dry Needling, Motion Palpation, Myofascial Release, SOT, and Thompson. As Gambrills chiropractors and Bowie chiropractors there are certain health conditions we especially enjoy helping. For us, our most rewarding cases involve Neck & Shoulder Pain, Low Energy & Fatigue as well as Sports Injury.
