🎉 Happy Birthday to our radiant Lead Teacher, Susan! 🎉
Today, we celebrate the witty, always laughing, radiant heart and soul she brings to every class, and we invite you to get to know her a little better… 💛🍋🌻
What first drew you to yoga, and what made you fall in love with teaching it?
Yoga has been a cornerstone of my life for over 25 years. From the moment I stepped into my first class, I was hooked—despite being sore for days afterward! What began as a personal practice quickly became a lifelong journey of growth and self-discovery. When I enrolled in teacher training, it was purely to deepen my own understanding. I had no intention of teaching—until the incredible community at Y6 saw something in me that I hadn’t yet seen in myself.
Teaching my first class was terrifying, but it was also transformative. That experience taught me that with practice, patience, and a genuine love for what you do, anything can become second nature. Today, I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to guide others on their own yoga journeys, just as I continue to walk mine.

What’s your favorite yoga pose and what does it say about you?
My favorite, Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon Pose) and Skandasana (Side Lunge Pose). I wasn’t sure what these poses say about me, so I allowed AI to generate, I like it! Together, these poses suggest you’re a balanced, grounded, and radiant soul—someone who values both strength and softness, and who moves through life with grace and curiosity.
🌻
If you could teach a yoga class anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
While I’ve had the opportunity to teach in other locations and spaces, there’s something truly special about sharing the practice with our local Y6 crowd. This is where I feel most at home—grounded, inspired, and connected.
💛
What’s something surprising or quirky about you that your students might not know?
I’m an extroverted introvert—I love connecting with people, but I need quiet moments to recharge. You’ll often find me in the kitchen cooking, working on my Sunday crossword or unwinding with a glass of wine at home.
