You may have seen the updated CDC page discussing vaccines and autism. 💉
And before anyone jumps to “right vs wrong”… let’s slow down and actually read what it says. ✋🏼
For decades, the messaging around this topic has been absolute—
“Vaccines do not cause autism.”
Full stop.
But the updated wording now says something very different—
Not that there is a link — but that the statement “vaccines do not cause autism” is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines could play a role. 🙏🏼
So what does that mean?
It means we are sitting in a gray space — a space that honest science is supposed to live in.
A space where we can say—
➡️ “We don’t know everything yet.”
➡️ “Evidence is evolving.”
➡️“We should keep studying this.”
This isn’t about being anti-anything. This isn’t about fear or blame. This is about transparency, curiosity, informed consent… and listening to the lived experience of families who have for years said, “Something isn’t adding up.” 🧐
We are in a generation of mothers who are waking up, asking questions, and saying—
“This protocol isn’t working for my child. Why? Can someone please look deeper?” 🫶🏼🤟🏼🤲🏼
And that is not conspiracy. That is good science. 🧪
Good science doesn’t shut questions down.
Good science doesn’t punish curiosity.
Good science updates itself — just like this CDC page did.
So where do we go from here?
We ask for better data.
Better studies.
Larger populations.
More transparent reporting.
Less censorship of reasonable questions.
More space for nuance.
Less all-or-nothing thinking.
Because if there’s one thing this update shows us, it’s this:
We don’t know everything… and pretending we do has not served families well. ☝🏼
Here’s to an era where parents are heard, questions are welcomed, and science is allowed to evolve — not because we’re looking for someone to blame, but because every child deserves the truth, the whole truth, and the best possible care. 🙏🏼🤟🏼🙌🏼
Also, I will be accepting formal apologies to my email. 📧
