Stretching and mobility work is important at any age, but the older I get the more I prioritize these workouts. Your hips and pelvic floor are a team and if there is dysfunction in one area it is common that other muscles try to compensate resulting in worsening of symptoms or new issues all together. Many people are unsure about the best way to care for their v***a. This uncertainty largely stems from social stigma, which has long tried to make conversations about ge***al health a taboo topic.

But here at VCAF, we proudly embrace our role as stigma-busting rebels! 😅

Here are some essential tips for proper v***ar care:

✨️ Avoid harsh chemicals, fragrances, and soaps. These can irritate the v***a's sensitive skin and potentially lead to a range of skin issues.

✨️ Opt for breathable underwear. While cotton may not win any fashion awards, it's the healthiest choice. Steer clear of irritating, overly dyed fabrics that can cause friction and skin irritation.

✨️ Say no to feminine deodorants and other scented products. Your v***a isn’t meant to smell like a bouquet of flowers—embrace its natural state! 😅

✨️ Stick to gentle, unscented cleansers. The v***a’s delicate skin doesn’t need anything more than mild, fragrance-free soap.

✨️ Do a monthly v***ar self-exam. Look for any unusual changes like white or red raised lesions, lumps, bumps, pimples, ulcers, wart-like or cauliflower-like growths, or moles.

If you spot anything concerning during your self-exam, make an appointment with your GP or gynecologist as soon as possible.

Remember, v***ar care is self-care! 🥰

Ladies!!!! It's time to sign up for October's session of the pelvic floor focused movement series. Spots are limited to 4 per session to keep instruction personalized, so don't wait to book. You can book online at wellpelvis.com or call me at 816-601-6881 to get registered.
📌Classes are from 6:00-7:00 P.M. every Monday in Oct. (6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th)
📌Location: Inspired Body Therapy 309 Park Lane, Odessa
📌Cost is $100 for the session (4 classes total)

Happy National Relaxation Day! Here are a few of my favorite ways to relax my mind and body.
💨Deep Breathing. Work on making your exhale last 2x longer than your inhale.
🧘‍♀️Stretching. My favorite yoga stretches are happy baby, child's pose, and a deep squat.
🌳Get outside. Reconnecting with nature is a great way to calm a busy brain.
