We held a ribbon cutting today for our newly renovated playroom, waiting area and a brand new book vending machine at the MCH Center for Women & Infants! 🎗✂️

This is all thanks to the help of Atmos Energy , who donated the funds through the Medical Center Health System Foundation! 👏👏

The newly designed playroom and underwater mural is connected to the 4th floor registration and waiting area, which also features new furniture. The book vending machine will allow families to collect a free token from staff to pick out a children’s book (from newborn to teens) and take home with them at no cost. 🌊🐬🐢📚

Thank you again to Atmos Energy for helping us make these families' experiences better when they come to deliver or visit a newborn! 💙

We want to shout out the nurses and staff in our NICU this week at the MCH Center for Women & Infants as we celebrate Neonatal Nurses Week! 🎊 🎉👶

The contributions of these nurses and heroes to the tiniest and most vulnerable patients at MCH make a difference that lasts a lifetime for the babies and their families! From basic care like feeding, bathing, changing and weighing the newborns to administering medications and making assessments, the job of a neonatal nurse can be a stressful but rewarding one! 🙌🙌

We have an incredible MCH community that is committed to the care of our patients and their families from the time they arrive, to the time they go home – no matter how far their home may be. 👏👏

Our staff truly care for the people they serve.

We are not only proud of the work these doctors, nurses and support staff do EVERY single day, but are proud of the character they show as people. 💙🧡

Daniel Fehr, who was bitten while golfing in Odessa, Texas, in late July, required an onboard ICU team for the $59,000 medical flight back home.

ICU nurses at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa donated more than $23,000 toward the cost.

“A beautiful, beautiful staff on the ICU came together,” said Daniel’s wife, Stephanie Fehr.

“They came up big, and came up with what we couldn’t so that we could bring him home.”
