We are beyond PROUD to announce the opening of the Panda Cares Center of Hope in the Samantha Canady Center for Pediatric Care at Medical Center Hospital! 💙🧡

This newly renovated space is designed specifically for children, to help them heal mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The room will offer programs focusing on therapeutic play, art therapy and even meditation, featuring video game systems, sensory wall panels, interactive games and a library.

It is all made possible by Panda Express, who has been an avid partner with the Medical Center Health System Foundation since 2012. They have also been a long-time supporter of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, raising and donating more than $100 million over that time for pediatric healthcare. ❤️🖤

As part of the Growing Advancing Professionals mentorship program (GAP) and Prosper Nurse Residency program, some of our newly licensed nurses recently participated in a mentorship mixer.

Our FREE Community Diabetes Clinic is open TODAY until 8 p.m. at our old Urgent Care location at 1940 E. 42nd St.

The clinic is FREE and is for initial diabetes diagnosis and basic treatment for people who DO NOT have insurance OR a primary care provider. No appointments necessary. Walk-ins during our open hours are welcome!

Our incredible junior volunteers recently participated in several leadership activities, including at the West Texas Food Bank!

Staci Ashley, VP of Human Resources, and Lina Lerma, Professional Development & Employee Engagement Manager, provided very engaging presentations on "Filling Your Bucket" and "Being a Coffee Bean". Over 30 students and JVs enjoyed the morning and then helped the food bank with a service project later in the afternoon. 👏👏

We are so appreciative of our JVs and so proud to have them on our campus this Summer! 🙌🙌

The MCH Urgent Care and Family Health Clinic on West University will be closed today due to a nearby water leak causing some incoming plumbing issues. All scheduled patients are currently being notified.

The MCH Urgent Care on JBS Parkway will be opening up their second side to take patients from the West University clinic to reduce possible wait times from the closure.

Medical Center Health System, the City of Odessa, Texas and Ector County officials began laying the groundwork today for expanded Fire & EMS services throughout Ector County at a special, joint meeting.

MCH and the City of Odessa entered into a Memorandum of Understanding, while the City of Odessa and Ector County did the same, all agreeing to work together on bringing expanded Fire & EMS services to the entire county. In the proposed agreement, which would need voter approval., MCH would take over the collection and appropriation of funding for Fire & EMS in the county, while the City will continue to manage those services. As part of the agreement, MCH has agreed to fund future expansion of Fire & EMS services in areas that are currently underserved and/or long distances from healthcare facilities.

THANK YOU to our incredible Trauma Services team for their continued outreach to the youth and teens of the Permian Basin! 👏👏

Last week, they got a chance to present the KEY Driver Education Program and their FENT (Facing Emergency Narcotics in Texas) Class to the Junior Volunteers here at MCH. Each month, an average of 89 lives are lost on Texas highways due to bad driving decisions. The JVs got a chance to set out a pair of shoes, each representing a life lost too soon. They were also given some impactful information about drug and alcohol use, what to do in the event someone is not responsive, and how to administer Narcan.

As always, thank you to Bryn Dodd, ECHD - District 1 and Janie Villanueva for sharing their personal and impactful stories. 💙🧡
