Ector County Health Department The ECHD provides services for Immunizations, Food, Sanitation, Water Quality, and More!

The Ector County Health Department is responsible for the development, integration and coordination of communicable disease control activities, environmental and consumer health protection programs, and public health promotion in Ector County. These community health services include the containment of vaccine preventable diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, tuberculosis and food-borne illnesse

s. Food service sanitation, environmental enforcement, water quality, waste water control, vector control, and the investigation of sanitation complaints are environmental health services performed by Ector County Health Department personnel. The Water Quality Program is responsible for the following activities:
• Reviewing the design of on-site sewage systems (OSSFs)
• Inspecting new OSSFs
• Inspecting public and semi-public swimming pools annually
• Educating swimming pool operators by conducting “Pool School” annually
• Investigating complaints
• Checking properties with new electrical connections for proper septic systems
• Interpreting Water Well Samples for homeowners
• Educating homeowners

We have one more day of the Back School Clinic left. In total our nurses have given 625 vaccines. This Saturday 10am-2pm will be the last day. Thank you Fire Marshals for bringing Sparky , OPD officers for a tour of their SWAT team truck and Alliance for bringing their therapy dogs !! Thank you to everyone that came out to provide some of their resources !
