Due to the winter weather and sub-freezing temperatures expected overnight into tomorrow, the majority of our outpatient clinics and departments will be closed on Monday, January 26. If you have an appointment scheduled at one of these clinics or departments for tomorrow, our staff will be reaching out to you to reschedule.

Our two Urgent Care locations will be OPEN tomorrow with regularly scheduled hours.

And as always, the hospital itself AND the Emergency Department will be open 24/7. 🏥

Medical Center Hospital is proud to announce we have been recertified as a Texas Ten Step Hospital! 👏👏

The Texas Ten Step (TTS) program is a designation provided by Health and Human Services that recognizes birthing facilities that implement policies and practices aligned with the World Health Organization and UNICEF’s Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. The program is recognized as lactation standards in care that positively impact breastfeeding outcomes.

Congratulations to our lactation group for achieving this designation once again! 🙌🙌

Jackie Lehr RNC, WHNP

Jackie Lehr RNC, WHNP is a Women's Healthcare Nurse Practitioner who has been at the ProCare Women's Clinic since October of 2017. She has a Master's Degree in Nursing and Women's Health and was a Labor & Delivery Nurse at MCH for several years starting in 1987. During that time, she went to Nurse Practitioner School to focus on women's healthcare and eventually provided care to women at rural clinics around West Texas.

FUN FACTS: Lehr is married to her husband Alan, and has one son, Grant, who recently graduated from UTPB. She enjoys anything West Texas when it comes to food, and loves tea, V-8 energy, and margaritas! Her favorite music is country, rock, and anything 70s/80s, and she loves to cook, decorate her home and walk her dogs!

Christopher Petr, M.D. specializes in treating a broad range of women's health issues at the ProCare Women's Clinic at MCH. Dr. Petr offers a complete spectrum of obstetric and gynecological care, including: general obstetrics & gynecology, traditional & minimally invasive surgery, treatment of abnormal PAP smear, management of abnormal menstruation, treatment of pelvic pain, management of menopause, birth control counseling, preconception counseling, and infertility evaluation & treatment.

FUN FACTS: Dr. Petr speaks fluent Spanish, which he learned studying abroad. He loves hiking & traveling, enjoys Mexican, BBQ, Mediterranean & Indian food, and claims Dr. Pepper is the best!
