Namaste! Greetings from Dharamshala, India!
I feel blessed being in your midst, sharing and exploring my inspiration and life’s work on ‘Embracing Grief’.
Grief has been my constant companion through my journey of 63 years on our blessed Earth. It was scary at the beginning and I often felt there was something wrong with me. I could be laughing uncontrollably and suddenly I would cry and feel embarrassed and confused. It’s only later in my 40s during a Vipassana meditation retreat, after the sudden passing of my father. I connected the dots between Love and Grief. I could grasp the dynamic nature of the flow of loving emotions accompanied by the fear of losing what was precious to me. I also learnt that grief numbs me when dealt with alone or resisted and is healing when shared. Nonviolent Communication helped me to build my capacity for empathic listening and resonance based presence. I noticed ease in accompanying persons in grief as I built my relationship with grief as an intimate companion and guide to find my way back into love!“
Grief and Love are two sides of the same coin! The slim edge of the coin is where life presents itself to each one of us. Walking on that edge, we are blessed with Grace; as we step into ... Being Human”.
Wisdom of Kabir the Sufi mystic, weaver poet has helped me journey from despair to hope; as I expand my circle of care from inner to inter-personal to societal to global. I have the capacity now; to hold intense feelings of grief for the tragic ways in which we human beings treat our air, soil, water and also each other; creating war zones.
Kabir connects me to despair - sensing human beings crushed between the two grinding stones of ignorance and suffering. My practices of embracing grief and witnessing this state of our world; as a collective circle of care helps me rise from futility to curiosity about what small steps we can take individually and collectively … There is grace and we emerge as people stepping into the arena of courage and compassion. Now the ignorance is transformed into wisdom and suffering gives rise to compassion.
This transformation brings about Healing and Change. I long to accompany you in your grief; a journey from despair to hope …stepping into new possibilities to live a fulfilling life. I look forward to connecting with you through the ‘Growing Edge Live’ show!
