NUHOPE

NUHOPE NUHOPE provides suicide awareness through prevention training and community outreach.

The Northern Utah Hope task force is an active coalition of mental health/social service providers, educators, survivors, law enforcement, veteran’s advocates, and concerned citizens working together to increase suicide awareness and prevention in Weber County. Spearheaded by Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital, the task force provides suicide prevention training to local students and community members, holds an annual suicide awareness walk, and works with survivors to facilitate healing and remembrance of those they have lost.

How can you make sure you’re taking care of your SELFIE?

⭐️ Make sure you’re getting 8-10 hours of sleep for teens and 7-8 hours for adults.

⭐️Get 30-60 minutes of exercise a day. Even going on a 20 min walk is beneficial!

⭐️Get out and get some sunlight! 15-20 minutes is recommended. Getting some sunlight first thing in the morning helps with getting better sleep at night.

⭐️Make sure you’re having fun everyday! Go do something you love a least a little each day!

⭐️CONNECT with others! Call or text your friends, go on a walk with a neighbor, take cookies to someone in need, help a family member.

⭐️Make sure you’re eating protein, grains, dairy, and a wide variety of vegetables and fruits. Limit sugar and processed foods.

Take care of your selfie so you can take care of others. 💙

Thank you to Casey Pehrson, Ed.S., NCSP for this wonderful acronym.

Your mental health matters, take some time to check on your mental health and the mental health of those you love. Here’s some ideas to celebrate:

💚Spend some time in nature, go on a walk or just sit outside and breathe deeply
💚Turn off all devices and spend time journaling, painting, drawing, dancing or gardening.
💚Check in on someone, send a simple “thinking of you” text
💚Share mental health resources online
💚Take a mental health evening with friends or family. Put devices away and have meaningful conversations.
💚Volunteer or donate.
💚SHARE your story.
💚Write yourself a compassion letter, acknowledge what you’ve been through and what you’re proud of managing.

💚
