Scammers are impersonating the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and sending phishing fax requests for medical records and documentation, falsely claiming to be part of a Medicare audit. CMS doesn’t initiate audits by requesting medical records. If you get a fax like this, report it to the SMP.

October Breast Cancer Awareness month ... early detection is key

October 13 is nationally recognized in the U.S. as Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Here's a reminder of breast cancer screenings covererage for women with Medicare:
- Women aged 35-39 can get a baseline mammogram
If a diagnostic mammogram is needed, Medicare also covers it, but you'll need to pay 20% of the cost after meeting your deductible.
