Today we’re going to talk about the diaphragm. A large muscle that’s main function is to help you breathe, but it’s also involved with swallowing, vomiting, urination, and bowel movements, and it assists the lymphatic system. Another function is to help separate the thoracic and abdominal cavities.
Getting trigger points in this muscle can give chest pains, along with the pain that sometimes comes under the ribs when running that a lot of us are familiar with.
Being aware of your diaphragm and properly using it, as well as adding some massage can help you breathe better, which can help reduce stress in the body of itself, and can help prevent chest pains and can maybe even assist in panic attacks?
I recommend always going in a clock-wise direction when massaging the abdomen to help with proper digestion.
