Hello KT&T Community!
It’s Wellness Wednesday, and this week, we’re exploring how food is more than just fuel it’s part of our emotional and mental wellness.

In Psychology Today’s article “Eating Well Is More Than the Food You Put on Your Fork”, eating disorder specialist Kari Anderson shares five powerful insights from over 30 years of helping people heal their relationship with food:

Be curious about food – Let go of judgment. Explore different foods and listen to your body.

Eat to feel better – Meals should leave you feeling nourished and satisfied, not stressed or guilty.

Hunger is a good thing – It’s your body’s way of saying it needs care. Listen with kindness.

Feel safe around food – You deserve to eat in a way that feels peaceful and empowering, not fearful or chaotic.

Food is medicine – Nourishment supports your body, heart, and mind. Let it be part of your healing.

This message is especially important for those navigating trauma, foster care, or self-image challenges. Your body is worthy of care, and you deserve to feel good when you eat.

Healing begins when we shift from control to connection.

Hello KT&T community, today is Mindful Monday!

This week, we’re reflecting on the power of kindness, not just the kindness we show to others, but the kindness we offer ourselves.
So often, we extend care and compassion outward while forgetting to check in with our own well-being. But true compassion starts within.

When we treat ourselves with gentleness, patience, and understanding, we build a stronger foundation to support others.
Today, try offering yourself one small act of kindness with a deep breath, a short walk, a moment of rest, or even just kind words in your mind.

You deserve the same care you give.

Hello KT&T Community!
Today is Wellness Wednesday, and we're diving into sleep.

Sleep isn't just about feeling rested. According to Psychology Today’s article “Why Sleep Is Important,” getting enough quality sleep is essential for your brain and body to function well especially for teens and young adults. Lack of sleep can affect mood, memory, decision-making, and even physical health.

Author and expert Dr. Jann Gumbiner explains how sleep strengthens emotional regulation, helps us manage stress, and even supports academic and social success. For those in the foster care system or navigating trauma, prioritizing sleep can be a powerful step in healing and resilience.

✨ A few simple tips for better sleep:

Stick to a consistent bedtime

Limit screen time before bed

Create a calming nighttime routine

Make your sleep space cool, quiet, and comfortable

Hello KT&T community, today is Mindful Monday.

This week, we’re focusing on single-tasking which is the practice of doing one thing at a time with full attention.

In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to multitask without even thinking about it. But when we slow down and focus on just one task, whether it’s drinking a cup of tea, writing an email, or folding laundry, we create space for calm, clarity, and presence.

Try choosing one simple task today and give it your full focus. No distractions. Just be there with it. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being present.

Hello KT&T community, today is Mindful Monday.

Today, we will focus on mindful listening. The sounds we take in, whether music, podcasts, conversations, or even background noise, affect our thoughts, emotions, and overall well-being.

Take a moment to notice what you are listening to throughout the day. Is it uplifting or draining? Does it bring peace or add stress? Just like the food we eat nourishes our bodies, the content we consume shapes our minds.

Be intentional. Choose sounds that inspire, encourage, and bring clarity. What you feed your mind matters.
