Did you know there are benefits to gardening in your recovery?

Gardening is beneficial for recovery because it combines physical activity, mindfulness, and connection with nature, all of which can help reduce stress, improve mood, and promote a sense of accomplishment and well-being. It offers a healthy distraction from negative thoughts and can be a great way to connect with others in a supportive community.

Exposure to soil can increase serotonin levels, and the rhythmic, mindful work of gardening fosters a sense of calm and purpose.

Each year, we celebrate September as National Recovery Month. We come together in September to promote and support our Recovery community. We strive to spread awareness that recovery is not only possible, it’s within reach. Our annual Recovery River Run is a platform for our collective voice as we celebrate and promote recovery in St. Lawrence County.
