A new client the other day spoke and said.. “I’ve had a ton of massages in my life… but there is something different about yours.. what is it.”
When I asked her what she felt it was, she said “your flow.. you know where to go without me telling you where my pain is.”
I sat on this more and more, after we finished.. what is it that I do that some might not.. pondering this thought.
And I recognized that in every massage I give, to every individual I work with, I hold them in a special container of safety, trust, and deep rooted care.
In this way, they feel safe. And because of this, I am able to feel them more fully, and discover what they each need in that moment.
Massage to me isn’t just bodywork; it is holding the space for my clients that allows their mind to go internal when often all they are used to doing is going external for everything that happens all around them.
And when they are able to drop into themselves. Then I am able to drop in as well.
Massage is a type of therapy that only you can heal from the inside without even needing to speak out loud 😌
