Dharma Bum Bodywork is a name that came to me while traveling for 7 months in India & Europe in 2015-16. It is a reference to the book "Dharma Bums" by Jack Kerouac, and my own path into the depths, seeking out those things that are sacred in life. To me, it is not the destination but the journey that counts. And it has become increasingly important to better understand how to live that kind of li
fe. Many topics have interested me since my youth growing up in Ojai, CA. Among them are Meditation, Spiritual studies, World Religions, Zen Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Asian studies, Philosophy, Psychology, Energy work, Massage and Bodywork, Yoga, Qigong (Chi Kung), Tai Chi Chuan (Taiji), and many others. I have a great and increasing appreciation for spending time outdoors in nature, and consider it to be one of my greatest sources for inspiration. Along the way, my photography and my travels have become a vehicle for me to feed that passion. Growing up in a small town, I was introduced to philosophy and meditation during my teen years. My introduction to Holistic health practices started when I met a friend and mentor in early 2003, who was an Shaman and Energy Master on many levels. He has since left his body, but during those 10 years of our friendship, was able to help me to greatly improve my own experience through energy work, mindfulness, and by using movement, massage, and other healing modalities. In recent years, my interests have broadened to include an in depth study of Holistic Health and Wellness practices in order to take better care of myself. The impact of Meditation, Yoga, Tai Chi and Qigong have been so dramatic that it became important for me to find a way to get certified and share these practices with other people. I am now a certified Qigong and Tai Chi instructor, Reiki Master, and massage therapist, and have been trained in many modalities of bodywork. My expertise is in helping people to be free from chronic pain, to detoxify their mind and body, and how to bring in a renewed energy into their life each day. Through the least intrusive practices, my goal is to help each person to move towards their ideal health.
