💬 A Message from Our Providers:
Dr. Brickman: “What a refreshing time of year! Students and parents, now is the best time to start or restart healthy habits as you settle back into routine.
Consider goals that are targeted and achievable and create a reward chart or fill up a "cotton-ball jar" to earn a reward.
Ideas:
Read 15 minutes every day after school
Eat an orange or apple for your after school snack
Drink a few sips of water before putting anything else in your mouth such as food or other beverages
Brush your teeth twice a day (in the morning for others and at bedtime for yourself)
Move your body for 30 minutes five days a week
We wish you the very best in school this year!"
Dr. Howe: “Hi everyone!
As you head back to school, I hope you have a fantastic year full of learning, fun, and new friends! Remember to take care of yourselves while you’re busy with schoolwork and activities. Here are some healthy tips to help you feel your best:
Eat a good breakfast every morning to fuel your brain.
Wash your hands often to keep germs away.
Try to get outside and play every day—moving your body is important!
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Get a good night’s sleep so you’re ready for each day.
Don’t forget to talk to someone if you’re feeling worried or sad.
Wishing you a happy and healthy school year!"
Amy Williams, PA-C: “Wishing you a wonderful school year. Get plenty of sleep, limit screens before bed, wash your hands often, and stay hydrated — water over sugary or caffeinated drinks, especially for athletes. Most importantly, be kind to yourself and others. You are smart, capable, and valued. Remember, mental health matters just as much as physical health — if you feel overwhelmed, talk to a teacher, parent, or stop by the clinic."
Beth Holderby-Acre, ARNP: “Good luck to everyone! I encourage students to keep an open mind, make new friends, try something different, and be kind. The beginning of school is a perfect time to step outside your comfort zone and experience new things. I hope each of you has a fabulous year learning!”
