Bickford of Okemos ended Assisted Caregivers Week with a bang! Enjoying a picnic lunch of grilled hot dogs baked beans and sodas topped off with resident cooked smores. Residents roasted their own marshmallows to the darkness desired.

Today, we remember.
On this solemn anniversary of 9/11, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who rose, and the resilience of a nation forever changed.

In senior living, we are privileged to care for many who lived through that day—who remember where they were, who they called, and how they came together in the aftermath. Their stories remind us of the strength found in community, compassion, and courage.

As we reflect, we recommit to serving with empathy and purpose—ensuring every resident feels safe, valued, and supported, just as we all did in the days that followed September 11th.

We will never forget.

Bickford of Okemos observed the fall tradition of visit the apple orchard. Our trek to the Country Mill in Potterville brought back memories for residents and the owners as resident Jerry H assisted the original owner in establishing the orchard. We enjoyed a wagon ride through the orchard, a picnic lunch,and cider & donuts. We purchased goodies for more fall traditions. Keep tuned for more fall adventures tomorrow.
