South Asian women in the U.S. are experiencing a rise in breast cancer incidence, including earlier onset and a higher likelihood of HER2-enriched disease, yet screening rates remain lower than other populations.

This disparity is shaped by multiple factors, including cultural beliefs, language barriers and gaps in awareness and access.

Improving outcomes will require more than awareness — it demands culturally responsive breast imaging care and better, more specific data to understand and serve this diverse population.
