This Black History Month, we are honored to recognize Ira Thomas Jr,. APRN FNP-C, as a valued community partner. His commitment to health and family-centered care continues to strengthen Northeast Oklahoma City.

With nearly 20 years of nursing experience, Ira brings both skill and compassion to his work as a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. An Oklahoma City Native, Ira earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Oklahoma, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma City University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Graceland University. This foundation is reflected in his passion for both learning and service.

Inspired to reinvest in the community that helped mold who he is today, Ira opened NE Family Medical Clinic. Through the clinic, he has participated in many community outreach events such as Juneteenth on the East, Faded and Educated, which is a back-to-school event to provide sports physicals for children and youth, multiple focus groups at local churches to promote health and wellness, and several men’s health workshops. Ira’s mission is to provide accessible, trusted care to families in Northeast Oklahoma City. His practice reflects a deep belief in whole-person, family focused healthcare, where relationships trust and dignity are just as important as treatment.

Ira is an active supporter of Lynn Institute initiatives, and consistently shows up to serve, collaborate, and uplift the community we share. Thank you, Ira, for giving back to your community.
