POV: You’re an overthinker.
This isn’t random.
Your mind learned that staying ahead = staying safe.
So it scans.
Replays.
Analyzes.
Tries to solve what hasn’t happened.
And it becomes a loop.
Reinforced by:
• intolerance of uncertainty
• perfectionism
• fear of mistakes
• need for control
Even the self-criticism has a purpose:
“If I go after myself first, it won’t hurt as much when someone else does.”
But that’s a fallacy.
A preemptive strike against yourself does not protect you…. it strengthens the loop. ⚠️
Here’s the hard truth:
Thinking about it longer doesn’t solve it…it often deepens the loop.
Overthinking feels like problem-solving but it keeps your brain activated and your body on edge. 🔁🔄🔃
That’s why this doesn’t resolve on your own.
Talking about it with a trained professional interrupts the pattern. It pulls you out of your head and into a different system. 🧐
There are specific, evidence-based ways to:
• stop the mental looping
• reduce self-criticism
• calm the nervous system
• no more mental gymnastics
🚫✨You don’t break this cycle by thinking harder.✨🚫
✅ Psychotherapy targets the pattern
✅ Medication management (when appropriate) reduces the intensity driving it
We absolutely understand these patterns and can create a personalized, evidence-based plan that aligns with how your unique brain processes, responds, and adapts so change is achievable, not forced.
We love what we do and are here to help.
