What is Torticollis?
(“Wry Neck”)
Torticollis is a condition where the neck muscles tighten or shorten, causing the head to tilt to one side and the chin to point in the opposite direction.

Signs & Symptoms
* Head tilts to one side
* Chin rotated to the opposite side
* Limited neck movement
* A lump or tight band in the neck muscle (in infants)
* Flat spot on the head (plagiocephaly)
* Irritability or discomfort when turning the head

"Plagiocephaly", also known as flat head syndrome, is a condition where an infant's head becomes misshapen due to prolonged pressure on one side. 🤔Physical therapy can be an effective treatment, especially when started early in the infant's development.

Goals of Physical Therapy
Encourage symmetrical head growth, Improve neck muscle strength and flexibility, and Promote proper head positioning during sleep and play.
