March is Colorectal Cancer Screening Month.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common and deadly types of cancers in the United States for both men and women. It affects men and women and people of all races.

More than half of colorectal cancers can be linked to risk factors that can be changed!

These include excess body weight, not being physically active, smoking, and drinking alcohol.

Risks can be increased by eating a lot of red or processed meats, or by not eating enough fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

Discover the Power of Nutrition and Physical Activity
Hello!
As we celebrate the National Nutrition Month® 2026 theme "Discover the Power of Nutrition” this week, we highlight the powerful connection between nutrition and physical activity.

Proper nutrition provides the fuel needed for exercise, and regular activity supports a healthy lifestyle. Here are some actionable strategies to combine nutrition and physical activity effectively:

- Eat a balanced meal 2-3 hours before a workout to fuel your activity
- Hydrate before, during, and after exercising
- Include a mix of carbohydrates and protein in post-workout meals for recovery
- Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week
- Find physical activities you enjoy to keep yourself motivated

Integrating good nutrition with regular physical activity can enhance your overall fitness and empower you to lead a healthier life. Let’s finish this month strong by embracing the synergy of nutrition and exercise!
