This week, we're continuing to highlight the people and moments behind the 2026 Youth Medical Mentorship event in Oklahoma—a program designed to increase representation in medicine through mentorship, programming, and career exposure.

What made this event stand out wasn’t just the experience—it was the people who showed up and made it meaningful for students across OKC and surrounding communities.

A special thank you again to Christopher McNeil, DO MPH and his team for leading with vision and creating real opportunity for students—especially those from underserved communities.

The students especially enjoyed hearing from Santaram Vallurupalli, MD, and resident Ibikari Legg-Jack as they shared their expertise with tomorrow’s high-potential healthcare professionals.

To our employees, along with the speakers, trainers, mentors, and healthcare professionals who gave their time and shared their expertise—thank you for showing up and making a lasting impact.

What stood out most wasn’t just the event—it was the people behind it.

A special thank you to Christopher McNeil, DO MPH and his team for their vision and the powerful leadership behind the Youth Medical Mentorship program. His passion for investing in students—especially those from underserved communities—is evident in every detail of this program.

We’re especially grateful to Santaram Vallurupalli, MD, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with OU Health Physicians specializing in spine injuries and diseases, for generously donating his time and expertise, along with resident Ibikari Legg-Jack for investing in future healthcare professionals.

At its core, the Youth Medical Mentorship program is focused on increasing and sustaining the representation of underrepresented youth across critical stages of the healthcare career pathway—creating real access, visibility, and opportunity where it matters most.

To our staff, the speakers, trainers, and healthcare professionals who shared their knowledge—and to every mentor who poured into the next generation—thank you.
