🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Every 2 minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with breast cancer — that’s 1 in 8 women in her lifetime. However - Early detection saves lives! When found early (in the localized stage), the 5-year survival rate is 99% (American Cancer Society).

Here are 3 easy steps to early detection:
1️⃣ Breast Self-Awareness
Do a monthly self-exam and look for changes like lumps, swelling or skin texture. Most changes aren’t cancer, but always check with your doctor if something feels different.

2️⃣ Annual Well-Woman Exams
Schedule a yearly well-woman visit for a clinical breast exam and to discuss any concerns.

3️⃣ Mammograms
If you’re 40 or older, schedule your annual mammogram. If you’re at higher risk, ask your doctor about starting earlier.

Take care of yourself — and remind someone you love to do the same. 💕
