REQUIREMENTS
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.
Preferably two (2) years of current private duty or pediatric nursing experience.
Preferably two (2) years of supervisory or administrative experience.
A wide range of Home Care nursing experience is recommended.
Ability to relate to different types of people.
Effective communication skills.
Knowledge of teaching methods.
Preferably participates in related professional organizations.
Ability to set priorities, use good judgment, and be creative.
Uses critical skills in problem solving.
Ability to function well under stress.
Currently licensed Home Care Administrator in the State of Oklahoma, strongly preferred but not required.
DESCRIPTION
The Clinical Supervisor supervises home care staff, clinical staff, and administrative support personnel. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of operations. Ensures clinical standards of quality and service are met. Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local government regulations and corporate policies.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Clinical Supervisor works with and is responsible to the Administrator of Shelby Healthcare.
ASSIGNMENT
Primarily works from the Shelby Healthcare office and performs recertifications, post-hospitalizations, and admissions in patients' homes/hospitals. May perform duties in a variety of home care and/or facility settings as well as community-based organizations.
FUNCTIONS
The Clinical Supervisor has a varied and unique role and primary responsibility in assuring quality client care and service.
The Clinical Supervisor performs acts that require substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills based on the principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences.
Performs all duties and responsibilities relative to Performance Improvement Coordination.
Directs and implements the Shelby Healthcare evaluation system for the field employees and the office staff
Recommends needed policies and executes all policies, procedures, and changes of Shelby Healthcare.
Reviews clinical records, statistics, and reports. Based on the outcome, and makes recommendations to the administrator.
Be available to attend seminars and workshops for advancement and continued education.
Ensures that State and Federal regulations are being met or may designate responsibility to field nursing staff.
Assist with the recruitment and retention of Shelby Healthcare employees.
Provides each Shelby Healthcare employee with an orientation program pertinent to home care.
Approves and oversees in-service or continuing education programs relevant to the needs of all Shelby Healthcare employees.
Participate in professional organizations as applicable.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general health care periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Directs and coordinates activities of all patient/client services provided by clinical agency/branch staff.
Provides guidance in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient/client care.
Selects, manages, trains, and develops clinical staff.
Will do timely appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in health care management and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Responsible for keeping lines of communication open between physicians, social workers, nurses, clients, office staff,f and new and potential clients.
Will be available to do evaluation visits, admissions, PRN visits, emergency calls, and to be on-call.
