🌿 National Healthy Kids Day 🌿

Healthy kids become healthy adults. The habits, support, and care we give children today can shape their future for years to come.

When a child’s nervous system is functioning well, it can support better sleep, behavior, focus, immune function, development, and overall well-being. ✨

When people think about improving their health, they often assume they need intense workouts,
complicated routines, or long hours at the gym. 🥴 But, one of the most powerful habits for supporting
your nervous system is actually one of the simplest: walking! 👟
Walking provides steady, rhythmic movement that helps the nervous system regulate and reset. It
encourages healthy circulation, supports brain-body communication, and helps the body shift out of
stress mode.
The incredible benefits of walking may include:
• improved mood and mental clarity
• reduced stress and tension
• more stable energy throughout the day
• better sleep at night
• improved focus and productivity
Unlike high-intensity exercise, walking is gentle on the body while still giving the nervous system the
movement input it needs to function well.
Pairing regular movement with chiropractic care can further support how the nervous system adapts
to stress, recovers from daily demands, and keeps the body functioning at its best. ✨
Sometimes the most effective health habits are also the most simple - getting outside, moving your
body, and taking a walk!

Your nervous system is involved in every stage of life - from the very beginning all the way through the
later years. 🧠⚡
It helps coordinate movement, regulate healing, manage stress, and keep the body adapting to
everything life throws your way. When the nervous system is functioning well, the body is better able
to grow, recover, and stay resilient over time.
That’s why chiropractic care can be beneficial for people of all ages!
👶 Babies – Birth and early development place a lot of demand on a baby’s tiny body. Gentle
chiropractic care can support feeding, sleep, digestion, and healthy nervous system development as
they grow.
🧒 Kids & Teens – Between school, sports, growth spurts, and busy schedules, kids experience
constant change. Chiropractic care helps support posture, focus, coordination, immune function, and
overall nervous system balance.
🧑 Adults – Work, stress, long hours sitting, and everyday responsibilities can create tension
throughout the body. Regular adjustments help support mobility, recovery, sleep, digestion, and
energy levels.
👵 Older Adults – Staying active and independent is incredibly important as we age. Chiropractic
care supports joint mobility, balance, flexibility, and nervous system function so the body can keep
moving well.
Health isn’t just about getting through each stage of life - it’s about supporting the body so it can
function well every step of the way.
A well-supported nervous system helps make that possible! 🤍

Sinus pressure, ear fullness, or that “puffy” feeling in your face can sometimes be connected to how well your lymphatic system is moving. 🤧
The lymphatic system plays an important role in helping the body move fluid, filter waste, and support immune function. Unlike the circulatory system, which has the heart to keep everything moving, the lymphatic system relies on movement, breathing, muscle activity, and nervous system regulation to help fluid circulate efficiently.
When lymphatic flow slows down, people may notice things like:
• sinus pressure or congestion
• fullness in the ears
• puffiness around the face or eyes
• increased seasonal sensitivities
• feeling swollen or sluggish
At Young Life Chiropractic, we know the nervous system plays a huge role in how well the body regulates and moves fluid. When the body is stuck in stress mode for long periods of time, circulation and lymphatic movement can become less efficient. It can start to feel like your body is moving through peanut butter instead of a flowing stream. 🌿
Chiropractic care helps support the nervous system and improve communication between the brain and body, which can help the body regulate many of these processes more effectively.
There are also simple ways to support healthy lymphatic movement each day:
• staying hydrated
• gentle movement like walking
• deep breathing
• getting outside and enjoying fresh air
• light stretching and mobility work
• dry brushing
• spending time in the salt booth
Supporting the nervous system alongside healthy daily habits can help the body move fluid more efficiently and create better balance throughout the entire body. ✨

Many people think chiropractic care is only something you do after pain shows up. 🤕
If their back starts hurting, headaches become frequent, or something suddenly feels “off,” that is usually when they begin looking for support.
But the nervous system is influencing how the body functions long before symptoms ever appear.
Your brain and body are constantly communicating about movement, balance, digestion, sleep, stress, hormones, and recovery. When that communication becomes strained, the body often starts adapting in small ways before pain develops.
Some early signs can include:
• feeling unusually drained after normal daily activities
• sleep that does not feel as restorative
• needing longer to recover after workouts or physical activity
• feeling more overwhelmed by noise or busy environments
• subtle changes in posture or movement
• fluctuating energy throughout the day
• more tension in the neck, shoulders, or low back
• feeling like your body is “running on empty”
At Young Life Chiropractic, we believe these signs do not necessarily mean something is wrong. Often, they are clues that your nervous system has been working overtime trying to keep up with the stressors of daily life.
Chiropractic care focuses on supporting the communication between the brain and body so the nervous system can regulate, adapt, and function more efficiently. ✨
Many people choose chiropractic care for the same reason they prioritize movement, nutrition, sleep, and healthy habits... to support how their body functions before bigger problems develop.
Your health is much easier to maintain than it is to rebuild. 🌿

Breastfeeding is often one of those things people assume will just come naturally… but for many moms, it can come with a lot of questions, trial and error, and frustration along the way. 🤍
Feeding requires so much coordination between baby’s neck, jaw, tongue, mouth, and nervous system. At Young Life Chiropractic, our doctors have completed hundreds of hours of additional training in oral motor function, cranial work, strength and stability, and the function of latch and feeding.
When there is tension or imbalance in the body, feeding can sometimes feel harder than it needs to. Our goal is to help support both mom and baby so feeding can feel smoother, more comfortable, and less stressful for the whole family. ✨
Every feeding journey looks different, and we are honored to walk alongside families through it all.

There is nothing sweeter than getting to walk alongside families through every season of life. From pregnancy, to newborn snuggles, to watching littles grow and thrive, it is such an honor to be a part of your family’s health journey. 🤍
One of the things we are especially passionate about is helping babies who may be struggling with latch, feeding, tension, or breathing challenges that can be connected to tongue ties and oral function. Watching a baby feed more comfortably, breathe easier, and helping parents feel more confident is one of the greatest gifts.
If you have loved your experience at Young Life Chiropractic, we would be so grateful if you would leave us a review! Your words help other families find support, answers, and hope when they need it most.
Thank you for trusting us with your care, your babies, and your stories. We never take it lightly. ✨

Have you ever noticed that when you take a slow, deep breath, your body starts to feel a little calmer?
😌 That response isn’t simply a coincidence. Your breathing patterns are closely connected to how
the nervous system regulates stress.
When we’re moving quickly through the day or dealing with stress, breathing often becomes shallow
and rapid. This signals the nervous system to stay alert and prepared for action.
Slow, deeper breathing sends a different signal. ✨
It helps activate the parasympathetic side of the nervous system, the part responsible for helping
the body settle, recover, and regulate.
Deep breathing also influences several important processes throughout the body:
🧠 Vagus nerve activation – slow breathing stimulates the vagus nerve, which helps shift the body
toward a more calm and regulated state.
💨 Oxygen delivery – deeper breaths allow the lungs to bring in more oxygen, supporting brain
function and energy production.
💧 Circulation and lymphatic movement – breathing acts like a gentle pump that helps move fluids
throughout the body.
💛 Stress regulation – slower breathing patterns help signal to the nervous system that it’s safe to
relax and move out of “go mode.

This is one of the reasons breathing exercises are often recommended during moments of stress or
overwhelm.
Simple habits like taking a few slow breaths, stepping outside for fresh air, or pausing for a quiet
moment can help the nervous system reset.
Chiropractic care also focuses on supporting communication between the brain and body. When the
nervous system is functioning well, the body is often better able to shift between stress and recovery
throughout the day!

Chiropractic care is about more than just the adjustment 🤍

It’s about connection.
Connection to your body, your nervous system, and your life.

When care is consistent, we don’t just guess—
we understand, we track, and we support you as you grow.

All ages. All stages. All connected.

Things I will absolutely stand by as a chiropractor who loves mamas + babies:

1.) Birth where you feel the safest and most empowered.
This is everything. Your nervous system sets the tone for your entire birth experience. If you don’t feel safe, supported, and heard… your body knows.

Whether that’s at home, a birth center, or the hospital—there is no “right” place, only the place where you feel calm, confident, and in control.

Your body was designed for this. Your environment should support that, not fight it. 🤍

2.) Car seats stay in the car.
I know, I know… they’re convenient. But car seats are for transport, not containers for everyday life.

Keeping babies in car seats for long periods can impact their posture, airway, and developing spine. Once you’re home, take them out, let them stretch, move, breathe, and be a baby.

Think: car seat = travel tool, not baby holder. 🚗

3.) The floor is your baby’s best friend.
Not the swing. Not the bouncer. Not the lounger. Not the Snoo..

The floor = freedom, movement, and proper development. It’s where babies build strength, coordination, and body awareness.

If they’re happy and safe, let them wiggle it out down there. That’s where the magic happens. ✨

4.) Milestones aren’t a race—but they do matter.
Skipping crawling isn’t a flex. It’s a missed opportunity for brain and body development.

Crawling builds coordination between both sides of the brain, supports posture, and lays the foundation for so many future skills.

We want quality development, not just speed. 🧠

5.) Your nervous system matters just as much as your baby’s.
A regulated mama helps regulate a baby.

Support, rest, nourishment, and care for YOU isn’t extra—it’s essential. You were never meant to do this alone. 🤍

6.) You don’t have to “just deal with it.”
Reflux, tension, feeding struggles, colic… these are common, but not something you have to push through without support.

There are answers. There is help. And your intuition about your baby? It’s worth listening to every single time.
