At DMEI, vision research is the lens through which we see a brighter future. Over the past 50 years, our vision scientists have been on the leading edge of research to understand the causes of eye disease and use that knowledge to undertake novel approaches to treatment. As we honor this legacy, we remain focused on accelerating new breakthroughs in such areas as retinal degenerations, glaucoma, and infectious and inflammatory diseases of the eye using small molecules, antioxidants, stem cells, metabolic reprogramming, lipid nanotechnology, and other approaches.

Your generosity powers the cutting-edge research that will shape the future of vision for generations to come.

🌟 Patient Testimonial Spotlight 🌟

At Dean McGee Eye Institute, we’re honored to care for our patients and their families with compassion, expertise, and state-of-the-art technology.

🗣️ Here’s what one grateful parent had to say:
“I took my son to see Dr. Patel, and he and his staff were wonderful and so professional. They were patient with my son and calmed my fears by answering all of my many questions. Dr. Patel was very quick to get back to me on the results of my son’s MRI, along with the 3 month follow up tests which allowed my family peace of mind. I highly recommend this wonderful doctor. The facility is beautiful, clean, and state of the art. It definitely instills confidence. Thanks!” ~ Gaea C.

We’re proud to have physicians like Dr. Patel who go above and beyond to provide compassionate, expert care. 💙

In this Q&A, the Eye Care Network speaks with Garg about what the research uncovered, how policy gaps affect residents and patient care, and why greater standardization and support are essential for the future of medical training.
