Looking to cut back on added sugar without giving up flavor? Small swaps can make a big difference. 🍓🥣

Here are a few easy lower sugar swaps to try at home:
🍎 Fresh fruit instead of sugary desserts
🥜 Nut butter on whole grain toast instead of jam
🥤 Water or sparkling water instead of soda or sweetened drinks

Simple changes like these can support steady energy, better heart health, and overall wellness as we age. 💜

💌 2,500+ handmade Valentine’s cards. One powerful message: You are not forgotten.

This Valentine’s season, Senior Helpers of Greater Oklahoma City’s Dear Senior, Valentine’s Day Card drive partnered with more than 10 local area schools and youth groups to help combat senior loneliness — especially for shut-ins and homebound older adults who may feel isolated during the holidays.

Together, students created and donated over 2,500 handmade Valentine’s Day cards, each one filled with kindness, creativity, and heartfelt encouragement. ❤️

The cards were distributed through:
• Meals on Wheels Oklahoma City ()
• Oklahoma, Canadian & Logan County Senior Nutrition
• Jesus House ()
• Valir PACE ()

For many seniors, holidays can magnify feelings of isolation. A simple handwritten card becomes more than paper — it becomes connection, reassurance, and a tangible reminder that they are still seen, valued, and remembered ❣️

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the following elementary, middle, and high school students — along with church youth groups — who went above and beyond to make this possible. Your compassion truly made a difference.

• Oklahoma Christian Academy Elementary Division ()
• The Catholic School of St. Eugene 5th Grade ()
• Heritage Hall Middle & Upper Divisions ()
• Bishop McGuinness High School ()
• Stanley Hupfeld Academy at Western Village
• St. Luke’s Edmond Youth Ministry ()
• Casady School Upper Division ()
• Westminster Presbyterian Church Youth Ministry
• Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School
• Plaza Towers Elementary School
• Cashion Elementary School
• Crossings Christian School – Lower School (2nd–5th Grade) ()
• Crossings Christian School – Upper School ()
• St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School ()
• Christ the King Catholic School ()

A simple card can brighten a day — and together, you reminded over 2,500 seniors and community members throughout Greater Oklahoma City that they are not alone. 💕
