Shorter days and colder weather can impact a child’s mood more than we realize. If your child seems more tired, irritable, or withdrawn this time of year, you’re not alone—and there are gentle ways to help.

✨ Keep a routine. Predictability helps kids feel safe and grounded.
✨ Get sunlight when possible. Even 10–15 minutes outside can boost mood.
✨ Encourage movement. Indoor stretches, dance breaks, or quick walks can lift energy.
✨ Talk about feelings. Let kids know it’s okay to feel “off” this time of year.
✨ Limit screen time. Too much can increase stress and disrupt sleep.
✨ Create cozy moments. Reading together, warm drinks, or calm activities can be comforting.
