SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital – Shawnee is taking steps to reduce its carbon footprint through a new solar farm located adjacent to the hospital campus.

The project converts unused land into clean energy production and supports SSM Health’s goal of reducing emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050. OU Health is helping connect students to future careers in healthcare through its new Future Forward mentorship program in partnership with Oklahoma City Public Schools and the OKCPS Foundation.

The program pairs high school seniors with OU Health mentors to provide career guidance, workplace preparation and direct exposure to clinical and nonclinical health care careers. Students also participate in career fairs and on-site interviews with recruiters and hiring managers, creating direct pathways into the workforce.
